Savvy Club

THE SAVVY CLUB STORY

Savvy Club is a Non- Profit Organisation that was founded in January 2017 to promote financial and digital literacy among women and youths. It was officially incorporated on 28th December 2021 as a Limited Company by Guarantee.

All thanks go to Dr. Hachimuma Chiyombwe who voluntarily designed the logo for this club in 2017.

Its inaugural club was set up at Dominican Convent High School in Ndola, Zambia, spearheaded by the then Accounts Teacher as Matron. It started with over thirty girls majority of whom were in grade 12. Lessons delivered during this inaugural year comprised how to create emails, how to access education using technology (which has proved extremely relevant in the COVID-19 Pandemic) and how to keep track of personal finances using the simple cashbook system. An Essay Competition was also conducted on women economic empowerment which saw some private companies like ZMART (Zamm Imports Zambia Limited) come on board to award the deserving essay author. In 2018, the Savvy Club Essay Competition was again conducted which was sponsored by individual well- wishers
